    As I walked through the doorway of Marianacci’s in West Wyoming, I was greeted by a gentleman behind the bar who made me feel at home immediately. It was clear by Dominic Mariannaci's friendly demeanor and smile that I was in a special place.
    Marianacci’s, owned by Dominic and his brother, Fred, has satisfied the appetites of its patrons since 1972. What began as a small, 30-seat restaurant and bar has grown over the years to its current capacity.
The restaurant has three dining rooms with booth-style seats or table seating, as well as a long bar that seats up to 12 people. The bar section of the restaurant has been smoke-free for 10 years now, and the entire restaurant followed suit two years ago.
    “It actually has improved business,” said Fred.
    Fred said his customers develop relationships with the waitresses and some will even call and request a particular waitress when they make reservations.
    “We have waitresses here for over 20 years. Once they come here they stay; they’re like family now,” said Fred.
    “Our customers like the appeal that you don’t get at some of the chain restaurants. Here, people come in and expect to see the same people. It’s a rare type of business today.”
    Marianacci’s features weekly specials, including Pasta Night, Homemade Polenta Night, and Steak Night. The restaurant is also known for its tripe, or cow’s stomach.
    “We sell a lot of it,” said Fred. “We make a lot of our own homemade pastas, sauces, and soups. Most of what’s not homemade is imported from Italy.”
    The restaurant prides itself on the importance of family and the relationships the staff has developed with its customers over the years.
    “I think people really like this atmosphere. People like to see the owner walking around. They like to say they know that guy,” said Fred. “We have people coming in here who I’ve seen since they were children. You don’t get that at many places.”
