    Company's Coming, a business specializing in all types of invitations, is a fusion of owner Judy Aita's love of shopping and weakness for beautifully printed pieces. As a longtime journalist in New York City who traveled extensively, she enjoyed browsing through small shops around the world and dreamed of opening her own store.
    Before retiring from journalism, Judy opened a gift store in West Pittston, carrying gourmet food, pottery, home decor, and baby items, as well as invitations. In May of 2004, she narrowed her focus to invitations and event accessories.
    Judy owns and operates Company's Coming herself and offers styles that range from traditional to contemporary, from sophisticated to whimsical. She has always been partial to fine paper and graphic design and said the business's focus on invitations was "a natural progression for Company's Coming."
    "And invitations are such fun!," she added. "Everybody loves to get that invitation in the mail, whether it's for a wedding, baby shower, or just a dinner for a few friends. Invitations set the stage."
    Judy offers her customers personal attention. Unlike products at larger chain stores and internet sites, several lines that Company's Coming carries offer customers the opportunity to custom-design invitations unique to their events.
    Customers from as far as New York City, Philadelphia, South Carolina, and Florida have sought Judy's professional advice on type styles, colors, wording, and mailing.
    "I hope my customers enjoy working with me and that the invitations they select add a special touch to their event," she said.
    Judy keeps current with trends by attending trade shows and training sessions and looking for reasonably priced lines with exceptional quality.
"Providing just the right invitation is a great job, but it is also an awesome responsibility because customers are coming to you for invitations that are part of major life-changing events – engagement announcements and parties, bridal showers, weddings, baby showers, birth announcements, christenings, birthday parties, and anniversary celebrations," she said.
    Also, as charitable donations, Company's Coming has provided favors and invitations for events such as the Cancer Society's Pink Ribbon Ball and the International Art Exhibit at Luzerne County Community College.
